Volunteering

The Newport Recreation Department is always actively recruiting volunteers, parents, students, or anyone interested in helping out with our youth programs such as fall and winter soccer, fall baseball, or winter basketball.

Our programs are laid-back, with an emphasis on HAVING FUN!

If you have the time and commitment to helping a youth team, either by assisting someone else in coaching, or taking on a team of your own, please call us at 401-847-6875. Ed Harrigan, our program administrator, is eager to talk with anyone who has experience in these sports, or will help you to take on the role of coach.

Thank you for your interest in our programs, and since Newport was named #1 in Sports Illustrated's "50th Anniversary Sportstown" in Rhode Island, we are obviously doing something right!
